On the morning of 29 July 2026, the Faculty of Law organized the Summer Workshop on Sharing Academic Research Experiences. Chaired by Professor Yi Zaicheng, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law, the event brought together faculty members for in-depth discussions covering the university’s research evaluation criteria, journal submission strategies, and the integration of teaching and research.

During the workshop, participating academics shared practical insights drawn from their extensive experience in academic writing and journal submissions. They suggested researchers look beyond traditional law journals and consider policy-focused publications and interdisciplinary periodicals. Participants recommended exploring intersecting hot topics such as the rule of law in the Greater Bay Area, industrial regulation and pharmaceutical law to diversify research perspectives and expand the influence of academic outputs.
Academics may also explore pathways for the coordinated development of teaching and research. Teaching interactions can feed into academic research, enabling mutual empowerment between teaching and research. Furthermore, faculty members proposed refining incentive schemes for postgraduate research to fully unlock students’ academic potential, supporting their career development while boosting the Faculty’s research output.
The summer workshop consolidated academics’ enthusiasm for disciplinary advancement and scholarly research, reaching a consensus on enhancing research quality with a focus on core journals. Faculty members are encouraged to align their work with the Faculty’s development roadmap, adopt an interdisciplinary expansion approach and develop “Law + X” research frameworks to concentrate legal strengths on emerging frontier topics.
The Faculty will continue to host regular research exchange events to foster a collaborative and progressive academic environment and drive high-quality development of legal research.
