Delegation from MUST Faculty of Law Visits the School of Law of Henan University

On the afternoon of June 29, 2026, Professor Fang Quan, Associate Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), led a delegation to the School of Law of Henan University for academic exchanges. Accompanying her were Yi Zaicheng, Assistant Dean of the MUST Faculty of Law; Mou Xiaobo, Program Director; and Assistant Professors Zhou Ting and Chen Qin. Zhu Xiaolu, Party Secretary of the School of Law of Henan University; Yue Hongqiang, Executive Dean; Vice Deans Wu Aiai, Liu Xia and Wang Li; as well as faculty and student representatives attended the symposium.

During the discussion, Dean Fang briefed the attendees on the history, enrolment scale, educational philosophy, and disciplinary strengths of the MUST Faculty of Law. She noted that rooted in the Central Plains region, the School of Law of Henan University has long devoted itself to legal theoretical research and integrated legal scholarship with social practice. By contrast, leveraging its unique geographic location, the MUST Faculty of Law specializes in foreign-related and cross-border legal research with a distinctive internationalized education model. Dean Fang expressed hopes that both sides could fully capitalize on their respective resources to strengthen in-depth and regular exchanges, and jointly explore innovative pathways for legal education in the new era.

On behalf of the School of Law of Henan University, Executive Dean Yue Hongqiang extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. All participants watched promotional videos introducing Henan University and its School of Law to gain insights into the university’s educational features and the law school’s development trajectory. Executive Dean Yue then elaborated on the school’s history, disciplinary planning and social service initiatives. He proposed taking this exchange as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, joint research and reciprocal faculty-student visits, establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, and collectively advance high-quality legal education.

Symposium Between MUST’s Delegation and the School of Law of Henan University

Party Secretary Zhu Xiaolu remarked that the two law schools boast distinctive education systems and development edges, creating ample room for cooperation in disciplinary building, talent training, teaching reform and academic research. He suggested building on this visit to shift from superficial exchanges to substantial, pragmatic collaboration, boost resource sharing and complementary strengths, expand cooperation areas and deliver tangible joint outcomes.

Attendees engaged in thorough dialogue on upgrading disciplinary construction, faculty development, reforming talent training frameworks and expanding internationalized education. Drawing on the characteristics and practices of legal education in Henan and Macao, both sides analyzed disparities in regional legal education, shared institutional experience and innovative ideas on optimizing professional curricula, enhancing students’ practical competencies and nurturing foreign-related legal professionals, and reached greater consensus on future partnerships.

This exchange consolidated mutual consensus on cooperation particularly in training foreign-related legal talent. It has injected new momentum into the School of Law of Henan University for expanding partnership channels and elevating its educational quality, while laying a solid foundation for pragmatic collaboration in legal education between Henan and Macao.
