Cultivating AI Law Leaders! MUST Faculty of Law Launches Macau’s First Master of Artificial Intelligence Law Program

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has been officially approved by the Macao SAR Government to launch the first Master of Artificial Intelligence Law program in Macau. The program will commence in September 2026, and online applications are open from now until July 6, 2026.image.jpg

Program Features

This program focuses on cutting-edge legal issues in artificial intelligence and adpots an interdisciplinary training model. It intergrates law, technology, ethics, and policy, forming a distinctive LAW + TECHNOLOGY education approach. Students will gain a solid theoretical foundation, rich practical resources, and an international perspective.

Curriculum

The normal duration of study is 2 years, with a maximum of 3 yearsThe curriculum closely follows global developments and includes core courses such as:

  • General Theory of Artificial Intelligence  Law

  • Cyber and Information Security Law

  • Data Law

  • Regulation of Algorithms

  • Artificial Intelligence Policy and Ethics

Elective courses include:

  • Foundations  of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

  • Legal Regulation  of Typical Application Scenarios of Artificial Intelligence

  • Artificial  Intelligence Justice and Artificial Intelligence Legal Services

The medium of instruction is Chinese and/or English.

The program focuses on frontier and complex issues in AI law, strengthening students' in-depth research abilities. It aims to cultivate high-quality interdisciplinary professionals who possess both AI knowledge and legal expertise, along with an international outlook, capable of addressing legal challenges in the intelligent era.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in law;

  • Applicants with other academic backgrounds must have either:

    • A legal professional qualification, or

    • At least two years of legal work experience.
