To assist first-year master's students in adapting to their postgraduate studies, the Faculty of Law held two lectures in October 2025, focusing on "The Door to Legal Research" and "Literature Mining and Thesis Writing." The events received positive responses, with nearly 200 students participating.
"The Door to Legal Research" event took place in October 3, hosted by Assistant Professor Guo Yiting, with Assistant Professor Zhou Ting as the speaker. Professor Zhou emphasized that academic research is not merely about summarizing existing knowledge but about creating new knowledge. He guided students to reflect on the meaning of pursuing graduate studies while introducing important aspects of legal research, including outline structuring, formatting, common literature retrieval methods, and relevant books on legal research methodologies.

"Literature Mining and Thesis Writing" lecture was held in October 30, hosted by Master's Program Director Mou Xiaobo and featuring Professor Yu Guanghua as the speaker. Professor Yu analyzed the relationship between literature mining and thesis writing, discussing how to select research topics and introducing various methods such as theoretical, empirical, judgmental, comparative, case study, and descriptive research methods. He also emphasized the importance of the citation system as an academic standard. Professor Mou concluded the lecture, encouraging students to use literature mining to clearly identify their research questions and embark on a more in-depth and valuable research journey.
