On November 7, 2025, the Faculty of Law at the Macau University of Science and Technology hosted a successful legal seminar titled "Fund Regulation and ESG Compliance in Singapore". The event featured distinguished guest speaker Associate Professor Lin Lin, a tenured faculty member and PhD supervisor from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Law. The seminar was moderated by Prof. Bi Jing Wei, the program director of the Faculty of Law, with Assistant Professor Zhou Qin serving as a discussant.

Professor Lin delivered an in-depth presentation on "Fund Regulation and ESG Compliance in Singapore." She began by outlining the legal framework and historical development of fund regulation in Singapore, emphasizing the growing significance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance amidst the global sustainability movement. Drawing on her practical experience with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and leading law firms, Professor Lin analyzed Singapore’s innovative measures in the establishment, operation, and regulation of funds while comparing the differences between Asian and international ESG standards. She further explored the profound impacts of ESG compliance on investment strategies, risk management, and corporate social responsibility, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between law and finance in the future.

During the discussion segment, Assistant Professor Zhou Qin provided insights on the applicability and challenges of ESG standards in Macau, engaging in a dialogue with Professor Lin on the differences between Eastern and Western regulatory models. Dr. Pit analyzed the mutual learning opportunities in financial regulatory systems between Singapore and Macau from a comparative law perspective. The audience, comprising faculty and students, actively participated by posing questions, leading to a lively discussion on topics such as ESG information disclosure and the practicalities of green finance policies.
The seminar lasted nearly two hours and concluded successfully, marking the end of the legal seminar on "Fund Regulation and ESG Compliance in Singapore."
