2025/06/20

On June 19, 2025, Ms. XU Bing, Chairman of the Belt and Road International Commercial Mediation Centre, visited the Faculty of Law. Dean FANG Quan and Programme Director XIE Gengliang attended the meeting.

Chairman XU Bing introduced the Centre’s operations and its achievements in resolving cross-border commercial disputes between Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau in recent years. He emphasized that under the "One Country, Two Systems" framework with three distinct legal jurisdictions, efficient dispute resolution remains a critical topic. The Centre looks forward to collaborating with the Faculty of Law to advance commercial mediation development in Macau.

Dean FANG Quan noted that the Faculty has long focused on dispute resolution research, having established the Center for Research Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution and trained numerous graduates in this field. The Faculty will continue contributing to commercial mediation in Macau and the Greater Bay Area.

During the meeting, Chairman XU presented the Faculty with the Hengqin Macau-related Case Studies, a publication edited by the Centre.
