New Year's Blessings and Ink Rhythms: MUST Faculty of Law Holds the 7th "Face-to-Face with My Mentor" Workshop and Special Spring Festival Celebration Event

As the Spring Festival approaches, to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture and create a festive and harmonious holiday atmosphere, the Faculty of Law of MUST gathered together on January 17, 2025, at noon in a classroom of Block R for the 7th "Face-to-Face with My Mentor" workshop and a special Spring Festival celebration event. Dean Fang Quan led faculty members and students in welcoming the new year with the fragrance of ink, conveying blessings through calligraphy and celebrating the Spring Festival together.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Law at MUST, co-organized by the MUST Faculty of Law Student Union, and sponsored by the MUST Foundation. It attracted over 80 law students. Attendees included Dean Fang Quan, Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng, Program Directors Bi Jingwei, Xie Gengliang, and Mou Xiaobo, Associate Professor Peng Yunpeng, Assistant Professors Dai Mengliang, Zhou Ting, Wang Jia, Wong Weng KuokZhou Qin, Wang Wanli, Chen Qin, Guo Yiting, and Chen Guanhong, as well as student affairs representatives Hao Chi Wan AO and Zhong Meiqi.

New Year's Greetings from Dean Fang Quan


At the beginning of the event, Dean Fang Quan extended New Year's blessings to all faculty and students, wishing everyone a brilliant year ahead filled with hope and opportunities, and encouraging everyone to embark on a new journey together. Subsequently, Program Director Xie Gengliang, the event host, invited the faculty members to kick off the event by writing their blessings and wishes for the new year. Students also stepped forward to wield their brushes, creating calligraphy works alongside their teachers and sharing the joy and blessings of the Spring Festival.

The event venue was filled with the fragrance of ink and the rustling of red paper, as the space brimmed with the festive atmosphere of the New Year and heartfelt blessings. Faculty and students combined traditional New Year elements to create various styles of the character "FU" (fortune), as well as artistic designs on fortune cards, red envelopes, and couplets, infusing their sincere wishes into their brushstrokes. Beyond calligraphy, students engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members, freely asking questions and seeking advice. The event also fostered camaraderie among students of different grades, who exchanged Spring Festival couplets and shared New Year's blessings, creating a warm and lively atmosphere filled with joy.

Students expressed their delight, noting how fortunate they felt to celebrate the Spring Festival with their teachers and peers. They appreciated the opportunity to experience the rich traditions of the New Year, appreciate the beauty of Chinese folk culture and calligraphy art, and discuss their academic and life plans for the coming year with their mentors and friends.

The couplets brimming with blessings and the auspicious "FU" characters symbolized the Faculty of Law's hopes for bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, ushering in good fortune, and adding a festive ambiance to the campus.
