Party Secretary Yang Xiuqing of the Civil, Commercial, and Economic Law School of CUPL Visited MUST Faculty of Law

On the morning of December 17, 2024, a delegation led by Party Secretary Yang Xiuqing from the Civil, Commercial, and Economic Law School of China University of Political Science and Law  (CUPL).visited the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The delegation was warmly received by Dean Fang Quan, Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng, Programme Directors Xie Gengliang and Bi Jingwei, and other faculty members. The visiting delegation also included Vice Dean Yu Wenxuan, Director Yan Jingjing of the Office of International Affairs and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs, and Associate Professor Yu Chengyuan from the Civil Law Research Institute.

Dean Fang Quan extended a warm welcome to Secretary Yang Xiuqing and her delegation, providing an overview of the Faculty of Law's student and faculty size, curriculum design, teaching and research features, academic platforms, and international collaborations. Dean Fang emphasized that since its establishment, the MUST Faculty of Law has been committed to implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" principle in legal education within the Macau Special Administrative Region, with the goal of cultivating local and cross-jurisdictional legal talents. He expressed his hope for further strengthening cooperation and exchanges between the two institutions, jointly contributing to talent development and legal research, and supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Secretary Yang Xiuqing praised the distinctive characteristics of the MUST Faculty of Law and introduced the basic profile and future development plans of the Civil, Commercial, and Economic Law School at China University of Political Science and Law. She highlighted the deep historical ties and solid foundation of cooperation between China University of Political Science and Law and the MUST Faculty of Law. She expressed her hope that the two institutions could further collaborate in areas such as faculty exchanges, academic research, student interactions, and joint academic activities.

This meeting deepened the friendship between the two institutions, and both sides reached a consensus on future collaboration directions. They look forward to building platforms for faculty and student exchanges and academic research, contributing to the cultivation of outstanding legal talents and advancing legal research in the Greater Bay Area.
