Vice Dean Jiang Nan of Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University Visited MUST Faculty of Law

On the afternoon of November 28, a delegation led by Vice Dean Jiang Nan from the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property at Tongji University visited the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The delegation was warmly received by Assistant Dean Professor Yi Zaicheng and Assistant Professor Liao Si. Also present were Deputy Party Secretary Lin Min, International Affairs Assistant Shao Feifei, and 17 graduate students from the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property.

During the meeting, Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng introduced the Faculty of Law’s current scale, teaching and research features, and the operations of national-level platforms and affiliated institutions. He highlighted the development of the Ministry of Education Key Partner Base in Humanities and Social Sciences (Overseas) – Macau Intellectual Property Center and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Legal Alliance (IPLAG), initiated by the Faculty. Vice Dean Jiang Nan explained that the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property was established by the Shanghai Municipal Government through Tongji University, with support from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The college focuses on cultivating high-level interdisciplinary talents in intellectual property law and management, including master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral candidates. She expressed hope for active academic exchanges between the two institutions, leveraging their respective strengths in the field of intellectual property.

Faculty and students from both institutions engaged in academic discussions on cutting-edge issues in intellectual property protection. Doctoral candidates from the MUST Faculty of Law, Long Xinxuan and Chen Siyang, along with Tongji University’s doctoral candidates Cui Lianqi and Feng Zhenhua, presented and discussed their research findings. Following the exchange, the visiting delegation toured the University History and Achievements Exhibition Hall, learning about MUST’s founding history, recent developments, and future vision.
