Students and Teachers from Holy Family Canossian College Visited MUST Faculty of Law for Interactive Mock Court Experience

On the morning of December 2, 2024, students and teachers from Holy Family Canossian College in Hong Kong visited the mock courtroom at the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). They were warmly welcomed by Programme Director Xie Gengliang.

During the visit, Bian Yuhan, Zhang Lu, and Wu Xiangwei from faculty of Law demonstrated the basic trial procedures of the International Criminal Court (ICC) through a mock court session based on real international moot court competition cases. This activity provided Hong Kong secondary school students with an opportunity to explore legal studies and practical applications. They gained an immersive experience of courtroom debates and a preliminary understanding of the Faculty of Law’s distinctive practical teaching methods.

Mock Court Demonstration

The MUST Faculty of Law adheres to modern educational principles that cultivate students’ research-oriented learning abilities. It integrates international competitions simulating litigation, arbitration, and negotiation into its curriculum, forming a unique practical teaching model centered on competitions for cross-jurisdictional legal talent development. The Faculty regularly organizes teams to participate in prestigious competitions such as the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (Chinese and English), Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot, Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, and Asia-Pacific M&A Simulation Competition. By offering competition-related courses and organizing study groups, the Faculty supports students in developing into legal practitioners with international perspectives and professional expertise, laying a solid foundation for future academic pursuits or legal careers.
