From November 15 to 17, 2024, Professor Yi Zaicheng, Assistant Dean of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Law, was invited to attend the 2024 Global Partners Week hosted by Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL). The event brought together representatives from 14 international institutions, including the University of Oxford, University of California, Berkeley, Pennsylvania State University, Washington University in St. Louis, Ohio State University, and MUST.
On November 15, Professor Yi delivered a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony and Symposium on Cultivating Legal Talents for International Engagement. During the event, he met with Professor Li Mankui, Director of SWUPL’s Office of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs, who praised MUST and its Faculty of Law for their rapid development. Notably, SWUPL and MUST signed a collaborative agreement in June 2024. Professor Yi expressed hopes to deepen exchanges between the two institutions, emphasizing future cooperation in student exchange programs, academic research, talent development, and joint conferences to build a shared platform for cultivating legal professionals.

On November 16, during a promotional session, Professor Yi showcased MUST’s vibrant campus and academic environment through a university video presentation. He highlighted the Faculty of Law’s teaching and research strengths, curriculum design, academic platforms, and international collaborations. Following the session, Professor Yi visited MUST’s exhibition booth, engaging directly with SWUPL students and warmly inviting them to study at MUST.

MUST’s participation in SWUPL’s Global Partners Week further solidified the bond between the two universities. Both sides reached consensus on future collaboration directions, aiming to leverage their geographical and resource advantages to jointly cultivate outstanding legal talents and advance the rule of law in Chongqing and Macau.
