To enhance mutual understanding between students and faculty and facilitate effective student-supervisor matching, the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) successfully held the 2024 Postgraduate Student-Supervisor Meeting on November 8, 2024. The event was attended by over 20 full-time faculty members, including Dean Professor Fang Quan, Assistant Dean Professor Yi Zaicheng, Doctoral Programme Director Associate Professor Bi Jingwei, and Master’s Programme Director Assistant Professor Mou Xiaobo, along with nearly 340 doctoral and master’s students from the 2024 cohort. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Bi Jingwei, Doctoral Programme Director.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Bi Jingwei introduced the participating supervisors across various academic disciplines. Each faculty member then detailed their expertise, research interests, and expectations for postgraduate students, including requirements for academic background, research capabilities, and personal qualities. They also shared valuable insights on learning strategies and teaching methodologies.
The supervisors’ professional and engaging presentations were met with enthusiastic applause, providing clear guidance for students in selecting thesis topics and research directions. During the Q&A session, students actively raised questions about thesis preparation and academic writing, concluding the event in a lively and productive atmosphere.
