On May 29-30, 2024, the 21st Annual Conference of the Asian Law Institute (ASLI) was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Law of Chulalongkorn University under the theme “The Future of Law, the Future of Asia”. As the premier comprehensive legal conference in Asia, the event attracted over 260 legal experts and scholars from 24 countries and regions. Assistant Professor Zhou Qin, from the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) was invited to attend the conference and deliver an academic report.

The conference was divided into several thematic discussion groups based on the content of the report. In the panel “Financial Regulation and Regulatory Design in Asia”, Assistant Professor Qin Zhou presented an English academic report on “Financial Regulation in the Context of Financial Inclusion: Understanding the Logic of China's Banking Wealth Management Regulation”. Participants spoke highly of the content of the report and discussed in-depth the recent developments of financial inclusion in various countries and regions. He also explored the impact of fintech on financial consumer protection and the design of financial regulatory systems.
The Faculty of Law of M.U.S.T. officially joined the Asian Law Institute on June 30, 2016, becoming a member of ASLI along with other renowned law schools such as the Faculty of Law of National University of Singapore, the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong, and Peking University Law School. The Faculty of Law of M.U.S.T. encourages teachers and students to participate in international academic exchange activities. It actively expands academic and educational cooperation between the Faculty of Law and international partners, jointly striving to promote the development of the legal profession in Asia.
