On June 11, 2024, the Faculty of Law of Macao University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) held the 2024 graduation ceremony in N101 lecture hall block N. Dr. Kwong Ying Wa, Vice President of M.U.S.T. and Professor Fang Quan, Dean of the Faculty of Law of M.U.S.T. jointly awarded the Master of Laws, Master of Laws in Criminal Justice, Master of International Economics and Commercial Law, Juris Master, Master of International Arbitration, Master of Financial Crime and Regulation and Bachelor of Laws. Additionally, attending the ceremony were Mr. Lei Wun Kong, Member of Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Law; Mr. Lao Chak Kuong, President of M.U.S.T. Faculty of Law Alumni Association; Professor and Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng, Professor Cao Xia, Associate Professor Shen Yunqiao, Associate Professor Wang Chuanhui, Assistant Professor and Program Director Xie Gengliang, Assistant Professor and Program Director Bi Jingwei, Assistant Professor and Program Director Mou Xiaobo, Assistant Professor Peng Yunpeng and Assistant Professor Zhu Feng, Assistant Professor Dai Mengliang, Assistant Professor Xue Wenchao, Assistant Professor Zhang Chuanqi, Assistant Professor Wong Weng Kuok, Assistant Professor Zhou Qin, Assistant Professor Wang Wanli, Assistant Professor Chen Qin, Assistant Professor Wang Chao, Assistant Professor Liao Si, Assistant Professor Guo Yiting, Assistant Professor Man Tao. More than 500 Faculty of Law undergraduate, post-graduates and their relatives and friends attended the ceremony to witness together the important moment when the graduates started a new journey in life.

Dean Fang Quan of the Faculty of Law delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony. On behalf of the faculty, she first congratulated the students on their efforts to complete the current stage of their studies and also appreciated the parents and friends of the graduates for their support, encouragement and companionship. She mentioned that the graduates had gone through a journey of seeking and choosing, preparing and acting, waiting and reaping on the campus. As Faculty of Law’s graduates, students learn not only the concepts, principles, theories and articles of law, but also the core values of fairness, responsibility, kindness and rationality. She encouraged the students to maintain a confident and upward attitude, a healthy and strong body and a mind that embraces the world, as well as to uphold the original intention and goodwill in all stages of life. No matter where you go in the future, you will still be a part of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau, meanwhile, the faculty will cheer for every success of students, and will be a strong backing for students in times of need.

During the ceremony, a simple and grand “Graduation Honor Cord” conferment ceremony was also held. The university has established the “Graduation Honor Cord” award to recognize undergraduate graduates with outstanding academic achievements, aiming to boost students’ enthusiasm in school and foster a positive university atmosphere. To qualify for the Honor Cord, graduates must attain a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher. Among them, graduates a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or above are entitled to wear a First-class Honor Cord. Student Sun Chen Hao Jie, undergraduate of the Faculty of Law received the First-class Honor Cord this year.

Student Sun Chen Hao Jie, an undergraduate and Student Pun Hio Cheng, a postgraduate of the Faculty of Law, spoke as representatives of the graduates. The two students reflected on their experiences and personal growth during their time at the university. They expressed gratitude for the excellent learning platform and teaching environment provided by the university, appreciated the teachers of the Faculty of Law for their meticulous guidance and careful guidance, as well as sincerely wished all the graduates to start their career and become promising young talents in the field of law. They encouraged graduates to their youth, wisdom, and strength to the overall development of the country.
