On January 29, 2026, the 29th session of the "Shizi Gate" Master Lecture Series was held at the MUST Faculty of Law in the N101 auditorium. The event was organized by the Faculty of Law with support from the MUST Foundation, featuring Mr. Xu Xianming as the speaker, discussing "Chinese-style Modernization and Rule of Law." Attendees included Faculty of Law leaders, professors, and over 300 students.

Mr. Xu Xianming
Mr. Xu Xianming is a distinguished legal scholar and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, among other significant roles. He has authored numerous works and contributed extensively to legal studies in China.
Professor Fang Quan, Assistant Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Law, welcomed Mr. Xu and praised his notable contributions to legal research and education. He emphasized the importance of Mr. Xu's insights into Chinese-style modernization and Xi Jinping's thoughts on the rule of law, highlighting the relevance of these themes for both Macau and mainland China.

During the lecture, Mr. Xu discussed the long journey of Chinese-style modernization, emphasizing its unique characteristics, such as large-scale population modernization and the promotion of common prosperity. He asserted that the rule of law is integral to this modernization process, serving crucial roles in guiding, stabilizing, and protecting progress.
In the interactive session, students actively engaged with Mr. Xu, asking questions about legal studies, the Chinese human rights legal system, and challenges of rule of law in the AI era. Mr. Xu provided insightful responses to each inquiry.
