Delegation from Guangdong University of Finance and Economics Visits the Faculty of Law

In November 14, 2025, Vice President Lu Xiaoming and a delegation from Guangdong University of Finance and Economics visited the Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as MUST). The delegation was welcomed by Dean Fang Quan, Program Director Mou Xiaobo, Associate Professor Shen Yunqiao, Associate Professor Peng Yunpeng, and Assistant Professor Zhou Ting. Joining the visit were Dean Zhao Jingchen, Deputy Secretary Luo Wei, Professor Ran Hao, Director Yu Hui of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, along with teacher Li Zhongxian, and six students from the Faculty of Law of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (hereinafter referred to as GDUFE).

Dean Fang Quan warmly welcomed Vice President Lu Xiaoming and Dean Zhao Jingchen, introducing them to the history of the Faculty, its faculty-student scale, teaching and research features, academic platforms, and external collaboration. She noted that there is already a solid foundation for cooperation between MUST and GDUFE, particularly in terms of faculty and student exchanges and academic collaborations. Dean Fang Quan expressed hopes for further cooperation on student exchanges, competitions, discipline construction, and academic research, including fields such as AI law and legal studies on aging societies, to contribute to the legal development and talent cultivation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Vice President Lu Xiaoming praised the educational characteristics of the Faculty of Law of the MUST and provided an overview of GDUFE, highlighting its concept of "Integration of Law and Business" and "Bay Area Integration." He emphasized that GDUFE’s School of Law focuses on three core areas: international digital law, national security law, and legal issues regarding aging. He expressed that both law faculties share commonalities in talent cultivation goals and teaching features and look forward to further collaboration in faculty exchanges, academic research, and student interactions.

Dean Zhao Jingchen discussed the current discipline construction and future development plans of GDUFE’s School of Law. He stated that the friendly relationship between the two law faculties has a long history and believes this meeting will serve as an important milestone for expanding exchanges. He emphasized the potential for in-depth collaboration in areas such as international talent cultivation, discipline construction, and academic research, including cross-domain law and digital law.

This meeting deepened the friendship between the two faculties, and both parties reached a consensus on future cooperation directions, hoping to jointly build platforms for faculty-student exchanges and academic research and contribute to the training of interdisciplinary legal talent and the promotion of legal studies in the Greater Bay Area.
