Professor Fang Quan, Dean of the Faculty, warmly welcomed the 586 freshmen and encouraged them to become interdisciplinary legal talents resonating with the times. In the face of the dual waves of globalization and artificial intelligence, she emphasized the importance for legal professionals to master knowledge across legal domains and international rules while upholding humanistic care and the belief in the rule of law. She used the metaphor "Seeing the Moon through the Finger" to illustrate that artificial intelligence is merely an auxiliary tool, urging students to become designers and guardians of legal civilization, showcasing the unique value of legal professionals in the technological revolution.

She expressed hopes that the new students would, on the occasion of the Faculty's 25th anniversary, become professional and compassionate legal talents through reason and kindness.
