On the morning of October 31, 2024, a delegation led by Liu Yanhong, Vice President of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), visited the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The delegation was warmly received by Dean Fang Quan, along with Assistant Dean Yi Zaicheng, Programme Director Mou Xiaobo, and Associate Professor Peng Yunpeng. Other delegation members included Guo Zhiyuan, Vice Dean of the CUPL School of Criminal Justice; Li Huaisheng, Director of the Institute of Cyber Law, CUPL School of Criminal Justice; Shi Fang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Law, CUPL School of Criminal Justice.

Dean Fang Quan extended a warm welcome to Vice President Liu Yanhong and introduced the Faculty’s teaching and research strengths, academic platforms, and international collaborations. He highlighted that the MUST Faculty of Law, as one of the university’s founding faculties, has established a distinctive focus on comparative law and cross-jurisdictional legal studies. Dean Fang emphasized the existing cooperation agreement between the two institutions and expressed hopes to deepen collaboration in criminal justice, financial crime and regulation, and the cultivation of talents in foreign-related legal affairs.
Vice President Liu Yanhong commended the Faculty’s rapid development and unique educational approach. She acknowledged the practical progress in cooperation through faculty exchanges and joint academic activities, and proposed expanding collaboration in student mobility, faculty visits, talent development, and international academic exchanges.
The meeting strengthened ties between the two institutions, with both sides pledging to leverage their regional and resource advantages to build platforms for academic exchanges and joint research. This collaboration aims to foster innovation in legal scholarship and nurture outstanding legal professionals.
