The Research Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology was established in March 2014. It is the first research institution created by the Faculty of Law and serves as a vital platform for legal research, practical teaching, and social services within the faculty. In recent years, the Faculty of Law has signed cooperation agreements with the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, Zhuhai Court of International Arbitration (Zhuhai Arbitration Commission), and Hainan Court of International Arbitration to enhance external exchanges and collaboration in legal education and practical teaching. The International Arbitration Master’s degree program offered by the faculty is one of the earliest professional master’s programs in arbitration available in the four regions across the straits. This program provides students with opportunities for theoretical study and social practice, focusing on the development of their legal practice skills, as well as fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness of their role in serving society.

The convening of the teaching and research sharing session related to the Research Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution has effectively promoted communication among faculty members, accumulated valuable teaching and research experience, and established a solid foundation for the long-term development of both the faculty and the center, as well as for the quality assurance of teaching and research.
