Sun Chenhaojie, a 2024 undergraduate from the Faculty of Law of M.U.S.T., has been awarded the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships” from the University of Cambridge in the UK. She will soon pursue a master’s degree in law at Queen’s College, University of Cambridge. Sun Chenhaojie is the first graduate from M.U.S.T. to receive this prestigious scholarship. Additionally, this marks the first time a graduate from the Faculty of Law has been awarded the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships” from the University of Cambridge, following Zhang Jiawei’s receipt of the same scholarship from the University of Oxford in 2022.

After collaborating with the University of Oxford in the UK during the 2022/2023 academic year, Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) has partnered with the University of Cambridge to establish the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships.” This initiative will support three M.U.S.T. graduates each year in pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge, beginning in the 2024/2025 academic year. The establishment of this scholarship is primarily made possible through the generous sponsorship of Dr. Liu Chak Wan, Chancellor of M.U.S.T. The scholarships will cover recipients’ tuition and living expenses while studying at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Dr. Liu Chak Wan aims to provide M.U.S.T. students with enhanced learning opportunities and to foster an international perspective. He hopes that students will return after completing their studies, apply their knowledge, and utilize the professional skills, multicultural experiences, and diverse perspectives they gained abroad to contribute to Macao’s development and national progress.
