On April 26, 2024, the signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Law of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon in Portugal took place in the N101 Auditorium, Block N.
At the signing ceremony, Prof. Quan Fang, Dean of the Faculty of Law of MUST, and Prof. Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, Portugal, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective faculties. Huang Wenjun, Vice Minister of the Legal Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region; Leong Weng In, Director of the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region; Teng Sio Hong, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao SAR; Dr. Aliana Leong, Associate Vice President of M.UST; and Prof. Fernando Loureiro Bastos, Director of the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, witnessed the signing ceremony.

Director Fernando Loureiro Bastos presented Dean Quan Fang with a compilation detailing the history of foreign exchanges of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
On April 25, the day before the signing ceremony, Dean Fang Quan of the Faculty of Law of MUST held a special conference with Dean Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, Dean of the Law School of the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Dean Fang Quan introduced Dean Pinto to the current numbers of teachers and students, curriculum, and external cooperation of the faculty, looking forward to promoting future cooperation between the two faculties in the exchange of teachers and students, as well as in teaching and research. Dean Pinto mentioned that Portugal and Macao have a long history, and Macao has a deep background of diverse legal culture. This meeting has opened a new stage of educational exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and they hope to engage in substantive cooperation in personnel training, exchanges between teachers and students, academic research, and other aspects in the future.
Also attending the conference were Assistant Dean Yi Zai Cheng and Assistant Professor Wong Weng Kuok from the Faculty of Law of M.U.S.T.. Ms. Marta Vera-Cruz, the wife of Dean Pinto, also accompanied the visit.
