Director Liu Xiaochun and his delegation from the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center) visited the M.U.S.T. On the morning of November 29, 2023. They were warmly received by Vice Chancellor and President Lee, Joseph Hun Wei. Professor Fang Quan, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, accompanied the meeting.

Director Liu Xiaochun introduced the basic situation of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration(SCIA)  and expressed that their visit to the M.U.S.T. was to attend the signing and unveiling ceremony of the cooperation project between the Faculty of Law and the SCIA. Both parties have reached a strategic cooperation agreement and will establish liaison offices to jointly conduct research, academic activities, and training courses in the field of international commercial dispute resolution. This collaboration aims to enhance the exchange and cooperation in the rule of law between Mainland China and the Macau Special Administrative Region.

President Lee, Joseph Hun Wei warmly welcomed Director Liu Xiaochun and his delegation and gave a brief introduction to the recent development of the university. He pointed out that the establishment of liaison offices between the SCIA and the M.U.S.T. Faculty of Law will effectively bring the two parties closer and facilitate substantive work, thus enhancing Macau's dispute resolution standards and capabilities in line with the shared vision of serving the development and construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He expressed the expectation for close collaboration in the future, particularly in exploring areas such as climate and environmental dispute resolution.

Other members of the visiting delegation included Huang Guoyong, Director of the International Cooperation and Development Department of the SCIA, Li Yiming, Legal Advisor of the Jiangmen International Arbitration Center of theSCIA, and Xie Xinyu, Deputy Legal Advisor of the China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Property Arbitration Center of the SCIA.
